How do you decide on baby names? After all it is a name that your precious one will carry for the rest of their lives.

Do you want it to be cool and unique? Easy to pronounce in other languages? Choosing a baby name is not the easiest decision to make however all parents enjoy doing.

We have a few tips for you and some inspiration left for the end of this article which we hope will work!

  1. Look back at your family tree and you might be surprised. You might discover a name of a great great grandmother that is not only beautiful but unique.
  2. Write a list of as many names as possible and then compare and contrast with that of your other half. Look out for the common names or for names that you wouldn’t even think before.
  3. Remember names of new people you meet or colleagues from other countries that inspire you.
  4. Look to nature, flowers, mountains, trees maybe you will get some inspiration for your baby name out of there.
  5. Look at your history with your loved one and remember favourite places you had on your first dates, your honeymoon, where you conceived the baby and other places you travelled.
  6. Look at history books, the Greek mythology for unique names such as Phoebe, Rhea, Penelope, Gaia for baby girls or Hermes, Areas, Odysseus for baby boys.
  7. Remember of people who were important in your life, a mentor or a coach, your favourite teacher in kindergarten or your favourite artist. The creative world is always full of inspiration and names that stand out!
